“USDA's Food and Nutrition Services has authorized the Illinois Department of Human Services to offer a special Disaster SNAP benefits for residents of 7 counties declared federal disaster areas as a result of flooding in late July.” Go to http://www.dhs.state.il.us/page.aspx?item=51138

Please note EVERY household that sustained losses must apply for assistance, either by registering online at www.disasterassistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired.  The phone numbers will operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (local time) seven days a week until further notice. 

A federal/state Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) will open Saturday, Aug. 28, in Westchester for residents to meet face-to-face with disaster recovery specialists, officials said today.

The DRCs, operated jointly by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week, at the following location:

It has been brought to our attention that the company Global Air, an air purification company, has been using the Village logo in their advertisements.  The Village of Westchester does NOT endorse any specific company or contractor working in the Village.  All contractors MUST be registered with the Building Department; we make sure they are properly insured and bonded.  Before contracting with any company, we suggest you obtain three quotes, verify the references of the company and check with the Better Business Bureau at www.bbb.org or (312) 832-0500. 

Bill Payment
Westchester now offers the capability of paying parking tickets and compliance tickets online through our Village webpage, this is in addition to our utility bill payment capability. The Village accepts all types of credit cards with no service fee charged 24 hours a day.
