On March 18th, 2024 at approximately 16:23 hours, Westchester Police Officers were dispatched to Byline Bank located at 11211 Cermak Road, for a Bank Robbery that just occurred.
Proviso Central Communications received a 911 call from the bank relaying suspect information and an approximate location of the bank bag. Bank staff advised responding Officers that a subject entered the bank handing the teller a note indicating that he was robbing the bank by threat of violence. No firearm was displayed or implied during the incident.
Officers from Westchester, Hillside, Berkeley executed a thorough search of the area, locating a subject matching the description in the area of Cermak Road and Enterprise Drive awaiting a bus. Larnie Brewer, 51, Chicago was taken into custody. The Federal Bureau of Investigations responded to the scene, and interviewed Brewer. Brewer will be transported to Federal holding facility to await a bond hearing.
