On Tuesday, April 16th, 2024 at aproximately 11:14am, an Officer was dispatched to One Westbrook Corporate Center reference a theft.
Officer arrived and spoke to an employee who advised at approximately 10:00am, a male subject came into the place of business asking to speak with him reference a job position. The victim took a phone call and his attention became focused on said phone call, however before the subject left the office, he provided the victim with personal information on a post-it note indicating his name. The victim was then notified that his American Express credit card was recently declined at a local Target Store, which prompted the victim to check on the whereabouts of his wallet which was no longer located on his desk. It was then discovered that his Mastercard was used at a local Walgreens in the amount of $145.00USC.
Westchester Detective assigned to the case, identified the suspect in this incident. On April 30th, 2024, Cook County State Attorney Office approved one count of Felony Credit Card Fraud against Edward Johnson, 59, Hanover Park. Johnson was processed and was transported to the 4th District Cook County Courthouse in Maywood for a bond hearing.
