At approximately 0044 hours, Proviso Central Communications received a 911 call reporting shots fired on the 1400 blk of Norfolk Ave. Central Communications relayed to responding officers the offender and vehicle descriptions that were leaving the area.
Update: Cook County States Attorney Office granted felony approval for charges of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon for arrestee Donny J. Starkes II of Hillside. Westchester Police Detectives are in the process of obtaining search warrants and investigative leads still pending in regards to additional subject(s) involved with this incident. Starkes will be transported to the 4th District Cook County Courthouse in Maywood to await a bond hearing.

Officers located the vehicle and detain multiple subjects. Westchester Detectives were called to the scene to investigate, interview witnesses and reviewing video footage. The preliminary investigation indicates that an altercation took place with a resident(s), and a firearm was brandished. The victim fled back into the home and called 911, and then heard several gunshots outside. Video footage led to the detectives recovering fired casings and projectiles. Two unoccupied vehicles were struck. A high capacity firearm was recovered on the scene, and no injuries were reported.
The investigation is ongoing however this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public. The Police Department is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective Sergeant Michael Fellers 708-345-0060 extension #449.
